The happy life of a happy wife…

{June 25, 2010}   Sweet and sour marmalade…

Shane is going to be gone to New York next week to spend some time with his family, and I’m so lame that I’ve been “saving” shows on the dvr to watch while he is gone.  Real Housewives came on last night, and I yelled out, “Oh my gosh! Turn it off! I’m saving that one for next week!” (at which point he looked at me like I was crazy)

My thought process is that the time will go by quicker if I’m distracted by the things I like.  Real Housewives, Hell’s Kitchen, new Judge Judy episodes…  So since I wasn’t watching my regular shows, I put on Marmalade Boy

Shane got me into anime in the first place.  Having never watched any of it before, he started me off with Love Hina.  I’m a huge Love Hina fan, but Marmalade Boy is just something special.  It’s the story of Miki Koishikawa…  Starts off when her parents announce that they are going to get divorced and “swap” with another couple (who have a son named Yuu).  So Miki’s mom is now with Yuu’s dad, and Yuu’s mom is with Miki’s dad.  It sounds kinda crazy, but it’s not done in a trashy way or anything.  Miki’s best guy friend is Ginta —— and the anime is about Miki having to decide her true feelings.  Does she love Yuu or Ginta?  I won’t ruin it for anyone that hasn’t watched it yet, but I am on Team Yuu.  🙂

It’s around $60 on ebay for the 4 scrapbook set (I think each scrapbook has 3 dvds).  A little pricey, but so worth it.  I bought my dvds several years ago, and I just got one scrapbook at a time, because you can get one for like $10-15.  Just checked Netflix and they may be offering it soon though…

(You don’t have to read subtitles either, because they have an English option)

So Shane’s flight leaves tomorrow, so tonight is our last time together.  I had a special dinner planned and was even going to make foods that he likes…   Then his friend Jay calls and asks him if he wants to go to a football game (to which hubby smartly replies, “Let me check with Beth first”    I don’t really care, but yet I gave him the trick answer, “It’s up to you dear.”  He failed miserably with, “Ok then, I guess I’ll go.”  LOL

So I suppose my stay-cation is starting a day early 🙂

Could I possibly have you over for dinner that week, then? Perhaps more than once?

OHOHOH, how about including a girl’s night next Frida?

I have plans for Friday already (going to see Eclipse!!) but I’m definitely up for getting together sometime 🙂
